The International Masters Regatta was started 30 years ago by Don Trask to find a way to get his father to race against the best of his generation. It was held for years in San Francisco Bay by St Francis Yacht Club and has always been a premier event brining sailors from all over the world. This Saturday, November 1, 2014, Long Beach Yacht Club is hosting an all day match racing seminar where the following will be discussed:
* Learn Basic Match Racing Tactics
· Learn Race Committee Signals and Sounds
· Learn How Umpires umpire
· Learn Addendum C of the Rules of Racing
· Participate in Match Racing in the Solings in the Bay
· Participate in Race Committee on the Long Dock
· Participate as an Umpire
· No-host lunch available in LBYC Lounge from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
· Happy Hour Debrief at the End of the Day

BCYC hosted the Corinthian Cup this past weekend for junior sailors in the Naples Sabot, Laser, Laser Radials and CFJ classes. LIYC, NHYC, BYC, and BCYC fielded junior sailing teams to compete for the cup. Congratulations to the NHYC junior sailors for winning the High Point Trophy!

Long Beach Yacht Club‘s Catalina Island Series concluded this past weekend with races #9 and #10 over to Long Point and back.

98 Opti junior sailors made the trek to Santa Barbara Yacht Club for this year’s Goblin Regatta. The Goblin Regatta has been a flagship event of the Santa Barbara Sailing Club for over twenty years. In the spirit of mutual support and cooperation, the Santa Barbara Yacht Club is grateful for the opportunity to assist with the continuing growth and success of the Santa Barbara Sailing Club Goblin Regatta by coordinating the Optimist class division on their behalf.
ABYC is hosting the Halloween Regatta on Saturday. Come to ABYC’s own fall classic, the Halloween Regatta. Get your “boo” on–or just a scary wig–and race this one-day event. The Halloween Regatta includes the Southern California Youth Yacht Racing Association (SCYYRA) Hamlin Series. Racing will be in 29er’s. A separate additional entry is required for competitors wishing to be scored in the Hamlin Series. http://www.scyyra.org/hamlin
